General overview of Gallade
Gallade is a Pokémon of the Psychic and Fighting type introduced in the fourth generation. Known by its Japanese name エルレイド, this Pokémon stands out for its chivalrous appearance and its precise combat style based on the blade. Gallade is exclusively male and represents a strategic evolution highly appreciated by battle-oriented players.
In the Pokédex, Gallade is described as a Pokémon of great courtesy, using its power only against worthy opponents. Its slender white and green body is equipped with elbow blades capable of cutting with extreme precision. Its height and weight make it an agile fighter, perfectly suited to fast duels.
Type, form, and evolution
Gallade has a dual Psychic and Fighting type combination. This association gives it access to a variety of attacks, both physical and strategic. It is an evolved form of Kirlia, but only if the Kirlia is male and exposed to a Dawn Stone. This particular evolution distinguishes it from Gardevoir and reinforces its combat orientation.
This exclusively male form strongly influences its role in a team. Gallade is designed as a physical attacker capable of handling many opposing types, notably Rock, Poison, and Ice. Its Fighting type also allows it to effectively counter Normal and Steel-type Pokémon.
Stats and combat potential
Gallade's base stats clearly emphasize its high Attack and decent Speed. Its HP are balanced, while its Special Defense remains more fragile, which calls for intelligent use in battle. It excels in direct confrontations thanks to its slashing attacks and precise strikes.
In competitive battles, Gallade is often used with a nature that optimizes Attack or Speed. EVs are generally invested in Attack and Speed to maximize its offensive potential. It then becomes an excellent physical sweeper capable of applying pressure from level 20 onward and even more so in the late game.
Main attacks and TMs
Gallade's wide range of attacks is one of its greatest assets. It naturally learns blade-based techniques such as Leaf Blade or Psycho Cut, which fully take advantage of its Attack stat. It can also learn powerful Fighting-type attacks, ideal for dealing heavy damage.
Thanks to TMs and move tutors, Gallade can access Fire, Ice, or Ground-type attacks, giving it offensive coverage that is highly valued. This versatility allows it to adapt to many situations and surprise opponents in strategic battles.
Abilities and strategic use
Gallade has abilities focused on precision and efficiency. These abilities reinforce its elegant and methodical fighting style. Well used, it becomes a Pokémon capable of turning a situation around through a quick sequence of powerful hits.
In strategy, Gallade is often integrated into offensive teams looking to quickly eliminate opposing threats. Its ability to learn Psychic and Fighting attacks makes it an excellent choice against many common types. It is also appreciated in raids and in certain high-level encounters.
Pokédex information and trading cards
In the Pokédex, Gallade holds an important place among elegant and powerful final evolutions. Its number varies by generation, but it remains easily identifiable thanks to its distinctive design and its large elbow blades.
On the trading card side, Gallade benefits from numerous editions showcasing its noble posture and power. Some rare or alternate art cards are particularly sought after for their dynamic illustration and in-game potential. Gallade thus remains a Pokémon appreciated by both players and collectors.
