General overview of Wormadam

Wormadam is a fourth-generation Pokémon from the Sinnoh region. It is known in English as Wormadam and in Japanese as ミノマダム. This Pokémon is the direct evolution of Burmy and has a unique strategic characteristic: its final form depends on the cloak Burmy was wearing when it evolved at level 20.

Wormadam is an exclusively female Pokémon, which directly influences its breeding and availability when caught, depending on the game. It is primarily used for its defensive versatility and its stats, which are suited to tactical battles rather than raw offense.

Forms and types of Wormadam

Wormadam exists in three distinct forms, each linked to a specific cloak. These forms influence the type, available moves, and strategic role in battle.

Plant Cloak Wormadam

The Plant Cloak form is Bug and Grass-type. It is the most balanced and most common version. It has decent Defense and HP stats, allowing it to hold on for several turns in battle. This form is often chosen for prolonged battles and attrition-based strategies.

Sandy Cloak Wormadam

The Sandy Cloak gives Wormadam the Bug and Ground typing. This form is more oriented toward physical defense and offers good resistance against Electric and Rock moves. It is interesting on teams looking to counter certain specific types while maintaining good field control.

Trash Cloak Wormadam

The Trash Cloak form is Bug and Steel-type. It is the most defensive version of Wormadam, with excellent overall resistance. It is particularly valued in defensive strategies thanks to its many resistances and its access to support moves.

Stats and general characteristics

Wormadam's stats vary slightly depending on the cloak, but the Pokémon remains generally oriented toward defense and HP. Its weight varies between approximately 6 and 7 kg depending on the form, and its average size makes it easy to integrate into different teams without particular constraints.

At level 50, Wormadam achieves a good balance between HP and Defense, making it a viable choice for strategic battles or specific formats. Its max CP in Pokémon GO depends heavily on the chosen cloak and the IVs obtained.

Available moves and abilities

Wormadam has a varied set of moves adapted to its type and form. Bug-type moves are common to all forms, while Grass, Ground, or Steel moves depend directly on the cloak.

Among its notable moves, one finds control-oriented moves, progressive damage, and defensive support. Wormadam can learn moves via level-up, TMs, and sometimes additional moves depending on the generation.

Evolution and how to obtain

Wormadam evolves from Burmy at level 20. The environment in which Burmy battles determines the cloak obtained, and therefore the final form of Wormadam. This mechanic makes the evolution strategic from the very start of the game.

In Pokémon GO, the evolution requires specific Candies and the obtained form is random, making collecting all three cloaks more complex for players.

Strategic use and battle interest

Wormadam is not a Pokémon focused on pure offense but finds its place on defensive or tactical teams. Its ability to absorb damage, combined with support moves, makes it an interesting choice for slowing down the opponent.

Depending on the chosen cloak, Wormadam can be used to counter specific types, secure phases of a battle, or complement a team oriented toward strategy rather than maximum power.
