Metang is a Psychic and Steel-type Pokémon introduced in the third generation. Its English name is Metang and its Japanese name is メタング. It evolves directly from Beldum and then can evolve into Metagross, making it a very important central step in its evolutionary line. Metang is often considered a strong Pokémon at mid-level thanks to its excellent defensive foundation and access to effective moves.

In the Pokédex, Metang is described as a metallic body composed of two perfectly synchronized brains. This peculiarity allows it to quickly calculate its actions in battle.
