Krokorok

Krokorok

Although its distinctive eyes allow it to see in the dark, the nights are so cold in the desert that it barely moves at all.

Overview of Krokorok

Krokorok is a Ground and Dark type Pokémon introduced in the Unova region. It is known by its Japanese name ワルビル. Krokorok corresponds to the middle stage of the evolutionary line starting with Sandile and leading on to Krookodile. In the Pokédex, Krokorok is often described as an aggressive Pokémon living in desert areas where sand and rocks are ever-present.

For players, Krokorok represents a key evolution as it begins to reveal the true offensive and strategic potential of its family. Its dual Ground and Dark type allows it to cover several common weaknesses and effectively threaten many opponents in battle.

Krokorok's Type and Weaknesses

Krokorok has the Ground and Dark combination, a duo highly valued for its offensive coverage. The Ground type allows it to deal heavy damage to Fire, Electric, and Rock Pokémon, while the Dark type is formidable against Psychic and Ghost Pokémon.

In return, Krokorok has several notable weaknesses. It is weak to Water, Ice, Fighting, Fairy, and Grass moves. Its Defense is decent but requires good anticipation to avoid super-effective moves, especially during prolonged battles.

Stats and Strategic Base

Krokorok's stats show a clear improvement over Sandile. Its Attack increases significantly, making it a Pokémon oriented towards physical combat. Its Defense and HP are decent without being exceptional, while its Speed remains average but sufficient to outpace certain defensive opponents.

On a team, Krokorok is often used as a Ground or Dark attacker capable of applying pressure quickly. It has not yet reached the maximum power of its final evolution, but it constitutes a very effective stepping stone in the story and in intermediate-level competitive battles.

Main Moves and Useful Abilities

Krokorok learns several important moves by levelling up. Among Dark moves, there are Bite and Crunch, ideal for dealing constant damage with a chance to lower Defense. On the Ground side, moves like Bulldoze and later Earthquake greatly reinforce its offensive potential.

Thanks to TMs and HMs available in Black and White, Krokorok can learn varied moves allowing it to adapt its set to the team. It can thus surprise opponents expected to counter it and bring real versatility in battle.

Evolution and Required Level

Krokorok evolves from Sandile at level 29. This evolution marks an important visual and statistical change, strengthening its appearance as a desert predator. Subsequently, Krokorok evolves into Krookodile at level 40, then reaching its maximum potential in terms of power and stats.

For players wishing to optimise their progression, evolving Krokorok quickly gives access to a final form that is extremely effective both in the story and in certain competitive formats.

Pokédex Information and Encounter Rate

In the Pokédex, Krokorok is classified as a desert Pokémon, using the sand to camouflage itself and attack by surprise. It is mainly encountered in the arid areas of Unova, often at a lower rate than Sandile, making it a slightly rarer catch.

Its Pokédex number and associated information place it as an essential link in its evolutionary line, highly appreciated by players seeking a reliable Ground and Dark Pokémon, both for the story and for building a balanced team.
