General overview of Drapion

Drapion is a Poison and Dark type Pokémon, known in English as Drapion and in Japanese as ドラピオン. It is the direct evolution of Skorupi, making it a highly appreciated Pokémon among players looking for a strong offensive profile combined with excellent Defense. In the Pokédex, Drapion is recognized for its massive pincers and powerful venom, capable of quickly applying pressure in battle.

Thanks to its dual Poison type, Drapion benefits from a total immunity to Psychic attacks, giving it an important strategic advantage against many opponents. Its imposing design and combat-oriented nature also make it a highly sought-after Pokémon in Pokémon GO, particularly for raids and certain PvP sets.

Drapion's stats and base data

The stats of Drapion are well balanced, with a clear emphasis on Defense and Attack. Its HP is decent, allowing it to last over time, especially when well optimized with suitable IVs and nature. Its base stat total makes it an excellent choice for players looking for a reliable and consistent Pokémon.

Drapion has a solid physical Defense, making it effective against many common types. Its Special Defense is more average, but is offset by its natural resistances and its Dark type. In Pokémon GO, its max CP allows it to be used in both the Super League and the Hyper League depending on the level and the invested points.

Poison type and resistances

The Poison type grants Drapion several key resistances, notably against Grass, Fighting and Poison attacks. Combined with the Dark type, it becomes completely immune to the Psychic type, which is extremely rare and highly valued in competitive strategy. On the other hand, it remains vulnerable to Ground attacks, which constitute its main weakness.

This type combination allows Drapion to fit easily into many teams, both in solo battles and in raids. It is often used as a direct counter to Psychic or Ghost Pokémon, while maintaining good offensive presence.

Available moves and abilities

Drapion's moves are oriented toward Poison and Dark, with several effective options depending on the game mode. Among its fast moves, there are abilities based on venom and pincers, ideal for dealing constant damage. As a charged move, Crunch and powerful Poison attacks allow it to melt the opponent's HP.

In Pokémon GO, the choice of fast and charged moves strongly influences its DPS and overall effectiveness. A good set allows Drapion to perform well in both raids and player-versus-player battles. TMs can be used to optimize its moveset according to needs.

Level, evolution and obtaining

Drapion is obtained by evolving Skorupi from a certain level, making it a natural progression for players advancing in the adventure. It is also available through capture in certain specific areas or during special events. In Pokémon GO, it can appear in raids or be obtained after evolving its pre-evolution.

Its weight and size reflect its raw power, reinforcing its status as an intimidating Pokémon. Drapion is also present in the card game, where certain cards highlight its brute force, its pincers and its aggressive style, making it an interesting piece for collectors.
