Mega Rare Attack: the new ex★ series in the Pokémon TCG
A trailer released as part of the Pokémon World Championships reveals the Mega Rare Attack cards, a new card type in the Pokémon TCG, along with the logo of a brand new series: ex★. Here is what the official video shows.
Mega Rare Attack cards make their entrance
The marking changes on the Pokémon involved. Instead of the plain ex, these cards display an ex logo paired with a star. The trailer offers a look at Mega Rare Attack cards featuring Mega Darkrai ex★, Mega Zygarde ex★, Mega Greninja ex★ and Mega Rayquaza ex★.
The Pokémon Company states that the cards shown are still in development and may differ from the final products.
A first look at Mega Lucario Z ex★ and Cryptéro ex★
Mega Lucario Z debuts in the Pokémon TCG as a Mega Evolution Pokémon ex. The video shows it alongside Cryptéro ex★, in the very first images released for these two cards.
The trailer also teases a surprise involving a special trio born under a lucky star. No names have been announced for this trio at this stage.
A new series called ex★
The closing sequence of the video reveals the logo of a new trading card series: ex★. Neither the expansion names, nor a release date, nor the product line-up have been confirmed so far.
