Wiglett is a Water-type Pokémon introduced in the ninth generation, appearing with Pokémon Violet and Pokémon Scarlet. Its French name is Taupikeau and its Japanese name is ウミディグダ. Despite a very close resemblance to Diglett, Wiglett has no direct evolutionary link with it and constitutes a completely distinct species from a Pokédex standpoint. This form surprised many Trainers when it was discovered on the beaches of Paldea.

This Pokémon lives primarily in the sand, near coastal areas and beaches. It only pokes its head above its hiding spot, making it sometimes difficult to spot. Wiglett is often confused with Diglett because of its elongated shape, but its Water type and marine habitat clearly distinguish it.
