Detailed information

Overview of Toxtricity

Toxtricity is an Electric and Poison type Pokémon, known in English as Toxtricity and in Japanese as ストリンダー. It is the direct evolution of Toxel, obtained starting at level 30, making it an evolution accessible fairly early in a standard adventure.

Toxtricity stands out for its punk design and aggressive battle style. It has two distinct forms, called Amped Form and Low Key Form, which slightly influence its strategic behavior without changing its typing. This duality makes Toxtricity particularly interesting for players looking for an original and effective Pokémon.

Types and general characteristics

The Electric type combined with the Poison type gives Toxtricity an excellent offensive balance. This combination allows it to deal significant damage to many opponents while benefiting from useful resistances against Grass, Flying, Fighting, Steel, and Electric type moves.

Toxtricity is a Special Attack and decent Speed-oriented Pokémon, making it effective both in solo battles and in more advanced competitive formats. Its imposing size and provocative look reinforce its identity as an offensive Pokémon.

Toxtricity's forms

Toxtricity exists in two main forms. Amped Form is generally associated with a more offensive and faster nature, while Low Key Form takes a slightly more measured approach. These forms are determined by the nature of Toxel before evolution.

Although the base stats remain broadly similar, the form influences certain visual details and access to some specific moves. This allows players to customize their Toxtricity according to their playstyle.

Base stats

Toxtricity's stats highlight a high Special Attack, supported by a decent physical Attack. Its Defense remains average, which requires good anticipation of incoming damage from opponents.

With a respectable Speed, Toxtricity can catch many opposing Pokémon off guard, especially when optimized with a Modest, Timid, or Jolly nature depending on the desired direction.

Moves and offensive potential

Toxtricity has a wide selection of Electric and Poison moves allowing it to effectively cover many types. Its moves deal consistent damage and fully benefit from its excellent Special Attack stat.

It can also learn Fire or Fighting type moves depending on the available TMs, further strengthening its offensive coverage. This makes it a formidable Pokémon in both prolonged battles and fast confrontations.

Abilities and strategy

Toxtricity's abilities improve its battle effectiveness by boosting the power of certain moves or taking advantage of specific situations. When well exploited, these abilities allow maximum damage to be dealt while maintaining constant pressure on the opponent.

Strategically, Toxtricity is often used as a main attacker or offensive pivot. It excels in teams looking to impose an aggressive pace from the very start of battle.

Capture and availability

Toxtricity cannot be caught directly in the wild in most games. Players must catch Toxel and then evolve it at level 30. This method guarantees full control over its final nature and stats.

In certain versions such as Pokémon Violet, Toxtricity can appear in raids or be obtained through trades, making it easier to integrate into a competitive team.

Toxtricity in the card game

In the Pokémon card game, Toxtricity exists in several variants, including powerful versions such as Toxtricity V or Toxtricity VMAX. These cards highlight its high damage potential and explosive playstyle.

Toxtricity cards are appreciated for their dynamic design and their effectiveness in Electric or Poison oriented decks, making them popular choices among collectors and competitive players alike.
