Thwackey is a Grass-type Pokémon introduced in the eighth generation and discovered in the Galar region. Its English name is Thwackey and its Japanese name is ゴリランダー. It represents the first evolution of Grookey, before Rillaboom, marking a clear power increase oriented toward physical combat and field control.

In Pokémon Sword and Shield, Thwackey is quickly identified as a strategic asset thanks to its solid stats and its key role in many competitive teams. It is particularly appreciated for its ability to set a consistent battle rhythm and to punish opposing teams that are not properly prepared.
