General overview of Pangoro
Pangoro is a Pokémon of the Fighting and Dark types introduced in the sixth generation. It is known in English as Pangoro and in Japanese as ゴロンダ. This massive Pokémon is the direct evolution of Pancham and stands out for its raw power and very direct combat style, based on fists and physical moves.
In the Pokédex, Pangoro holds number 675. It is often portrayed as a Pokémon with a brutal temperament but a certain sense of honor. In battle, it is used for its high striking power and its ability to quickly put pressure on the opponent.
Type, weaknesses, and resistances
Pangoro has a combination of Fighting and Dark types. This dual typing offers interesting offensive coverage but also exposes it to several significant weaknesses.
Main weaknesses: Fairy, Fighting, Flying
Notable resistances: Ghost, Dark, Rock
Immunity: Psychic thanks to its Dark type
Strategically, Fairy-type moves must be watched carefully, as they represent its greatest weakness and can knock it out very quickly.
Base stats and battle potential
Pangoro is clearly oriented toward physical Attack. Its base stats highlight its power and bulk, at the expense of Speed.
High HP to take hits
Very high Attack, ideal for punch-based and contact moves
Decent Defense but more fragile Special Defense
Low Speed, which requires good anticipation in battle
This profile makes Pangoro an excellent Pokémon for direct confrontations, capable of turning a situation around through sheer brute force, especially in solo battle or at the end of a match.
Key moves and crucial abilities
Pangoro has a wide range of physical moves that fully exploit its Fighting and Dark types. It is particularly formidable with moves based on fists and headbutts.
Crunch to take advantage of the Dark type
Close Combat to deal heavy damage
Ice Punch to cover weaknesses against Flying and Ground types
Taunt to disrupt opposing strategies
Through TMs, it can also learn Rock, Poison, or Steel moves, further enhancing its versatility in battle.
Evolution and obtaining
Pangoro is the evolution of Pancham. The evolution triggers from level 32, provided a Dark-type Pokémon is present in the team. This particular mechanic pushes players to anticipate their team composition.
Once evolved, Pangoro gains a clear power boost and becomes much more viable in competitive battle or advanced in-game confrontations.
Pangoro in the TCG and Pokémon GO
In the Trading Card Game (TCG), Pangoro appears on several cards focused on direct damage and offensive pressure. Pangoro cards are appreciated for their imposing illustration and aggressive style.
In Pokémon GO, Pangoro is used as a Fighting or Dark attacker. Its lack of Speed limits its use in PvP, but it remains effective in certain raids and specific battles thanks to its high base power.
