Overview of Necrozma
Necrozma is a Legendary Pokémon introduced in the seventh generation. Its English name is Necrozma and its Japanese name is ネクロズマ. It is closely linked to the themes of light, energy, and the moon, making it a central Pokémon in Pokémon Sun, Pokémon Moon, and their subsequent versions. Necrozma has an angular and dark appearance, with wings composed of black prisms capable of absorbing and releasing an extremely powerful luminous energy.
For players, Necrozma stands out for its high stats and its unique ability to change form through fusion. This Pokémon is genderless and cannot reproduce, reinforcing its status as a unique and rare creature in the Pokédex. It is available primarily through events, story quests, or specific raids depending on the game.
Type and Base Stats
Necrozma is Psychic-type in its base form. Its stats are balanced, with solid HP, decent Defense, and an already strong Special Attack. This allows it to be used both in strategic battle and in more accessible content such as raids or certain leagues.
At a high level, notably at level 50, Necrozma can become a very powerful Pokémon when properly optimized with the right nature and EVs oriented toward Special Attack or Speed. Its imposing size and prismatic body well reflect its role as an unstable source of energy and light.
Forms and Fusion Mechanic
Necrozma has multiple forms, which makes it particularly interesting for advanced players. It can fuse with Solgaleo or Lunala using prism energy. These fusions give rise to Dusk Mane Necrozma and Dawn Wings Necrozma.
The Dusk Mane form adopts the Psychic and Steel type, with a more physical orientation and improved Defense. The Dawn Wings form becomes Psychic and Ghost type, enhancing Special Attack and the lunar aspect of the Pokémon. Finally, an even more powerful form exists — Ultra Necrozma — accessible in certain games, which drastically boosts stats and transforms Necrozma into a true offensive powerhouse.
Moves and Useful Abilities
Necrozma has a wide selection of moves, allowing it to adapt to many battle situations. Among its signature moves, Prismatic Laser is a devastating special attack based on light. It can also learn moves such as Shadow Claw, Psyshock, or Solar Beam depending on the form used.
Its special Ability allows it to better absorb damage or optimize its offensive potential, making it a very versatile Pokémon. In battle, Necrozma can serve as a special sweeper, a defensive pivot, or even a finisher thanks to its raw power.
In-Game Utility and Trading Cards
In the main series games, Necrozma is often used in strategic battle thanks to its stats and its alternate forms. In Pokémon GO, it appears during special events and raids, with very high max CP making it a sought-after target for players.
On the trading card side, Necrozma exists in multiple versions, including ultra cards and variants linked to Ultra Necrozma. These cards are appreciated for their design centered on light, shadow, and energy, as well as for their powerful attacks in competitive play. Necrozma thus remains an iconic Pokémon, valued by players and collectors alike.
