General overview of Meditite
Meditite is a Fighting- and Psychic-type Pokémon introduced in the third generation. Its Japanese name is アサナン. This Pokémon is easily recognizable by its constant meditation posture, the central symbol of its fighting style and training. Meditite is registered in the national Pokédex with a specific number that allows it to be quickly identified when consulting official information.
Meditite devotes its entire life to improving its body and mind. It meditates several times a day in order to strengthen its Attack and mental resilience. This discipline is directly reflected in its base stats, which are balanced between the physical and the special side, even though its HP remains relatively modest for extended battles.
Base stats and Pokédex information
Meditite's stats reflect its technical playstyle. It is not designed to absorb heavy damage, but rather to strike effectively after appropriate preparation. Its Attack stat becomes particularly interesting when combined with certain meditation-based moves.
Moderate base HP, requiring careful management in battle
Decent Attack, which can be improved via specific moves
Balanced but unremarkable Defense and Special Defense
Average Speed, sufficient to catch some opponents off guard
In the Pokédex, Meditite is described as a Pokémon seeking enlightenment through training. It often stands on one leg for extended periods, strengthening its balance and mind. This description reinforces its identity centered on discipline and mastery.
Moves, abilities, and available TMs
Meditite naturally learns several moves oriented toward physical Fighting and Psychic combat. Its level-up movepool includes techniques focused on concentration, precise striking, and opponent control. Certain Fighting-type moves allow it to offset its fragility by dealing direct damage.
Fighting-type moves based on punches and direct hits
Psychic moves to disrupt or weaken the opponent
Access to TMs that increase its strategic utility
Through TMs and sometimes HMs depending on the generation, Meditite can learn utility moves such as Reflect or coverage moves against different types. This makes it more flexible in a team, especially in the early game.
Evolution, EVs, and recommended nature
Meditite evolves at a certain level into a much more powerful Pokémon, making it an interesting choice for patient players. Its evolution retains the meditation theme but completely transforms its offensive and defensive potential.
In terms of EVs, it is advised to invest primarily in Attack and Speed in order to maximize battle efficiency. A secondary distribution in HP can also be considered to improve survivability.
Attack EVs to increase damage output
Speed EVs to strike before the opponent
Nature favoring Attack or Speed depending on the strategy
In-game usage and trading cards
In-game, Meditite is mostly used in the early or mid-adventure. It is rarely seen in high-level battles without its evolution, but remains useful for learning battle mechanics and stat management. Its weaknesses must be taken into account, particularly against type Flying, Ghost, or Fairy moves depending on the generation.
On the trading card side, Meditite exists in several versions, with illustrations highlighting its meditative posture. Some cards emphasize its Psychic- or Fighting-type attacks, while others rely on boosting or protective effects. These cards are appreciated for their consistency with the theme of discipline and training.
