General overview of Mamoswine

Mamoswine is a Pokémon of the Ice and Ground type, known by its Japanese name マンムー. Evolved from Piloswine, Mamoswine represents the final stage of a line marked by raw power and endurance. Inspired by the Ice Age, this massive Pokémon is instantly recognizable by its great size, its spectacular frozen tusks, and its prehistoric mammoth appearance. In the Pokédex, Mamoswine is often described as a survivor of blizzards and heat waves thanks to its thick fur.

Type, strengths, and weaknesses

Mamoswine has the dual type Ice and Ground, a very offensive combination in battle. This type allows it to deal heavy damage to many opponents, especially Dragon, Electric, Poison, and Flying types. Its power base relies on highly effective Ground attacks combined with devastating Ice moves. However, its weaknesses must be accounted for, especially against Water, Fighting, Steel, and Fire types, which can exploit its sometimes limited special defenses.

Stats and combat potential

Mamoswine's stats clearly emphasize its role as a physical attacker. Its base Attack is very high, making it one of the best offensive Ground Pokémon available. Its solid HP allows it to take several hits, while its decent Defense reinforces its longevity on the field. Its Speed is average but sufficient to surprise certain opponents, especially with a good nature. However, its Special Defense remains its weak point, which requires players to anticipate powerful special attacks.

Attacks and strategic power

Mamoswine's movepool is one of its greatest assets. It can learn iconic attacks such as Earthquake, Blizzard, and Ice Fang, which fully take advantage of its type and natural power. These attacks allow it to cover a wide range of enemy types. Thanks to Ground moves like Mud-Slap or Stealth Rock, Mamoswine can also play a strategic role by disrupting the opposing team. Its offensive power makes it a formidable choice in both solo battles and raids.

Evolution and place in the Pokédex

Mamoswine is the final evolution of Piloswine, after learning Ancient Power. This evolution marks a clear improvement in terms of stats and offensive potential. In the Pokédex, it is often associated with cold regions and snowstorms, symbolizing raw strength and adaptation to extreme conditions. Its imposing size and high weight reinforce its image as a colossus capable of dominating the battlefield.

Competitive use and trading cards

In competitive battles, Mamoswine is appreciated for its ability to put immediate pressure on the opponent. It is often used as a lead or a wall breaker thanks to its powerful attacks. In the Pokémon card game, Mamoswine is also sought after for cards showcasing its power and high damage output. Some cards stand out for their price and popularity among collectors, especially in extensions focused on Ice or the Sinnoh generations.
