Luvdisc is a Water-type Pokémon introduced in the third generation. Its French name is Lovdisc and its Japanese name is ラブカス. This Pokémon stands out for its very recognizable heart shape and its direct connection to the theme of love and couples. In the Pokédex, Luvdisc is often described as a resident of warm seas that frequently appears near beaches and coral reefs.

Luvdisc is primarily appreciated for its symbolic design and its high Speed rather than for its raw power. For players, it is more of a utility or collectible Pokémon than one genuinely oriented toward competitive battle. It can nonetheless be interesting in certain strategies based on Speed or support.

Luvdisc is not designed to deal heavy damage. Its offensive power is low, even at high levels, which limits its effectiveness in League battles or competitive matchups. It can however surprise in very specific formats or during scripted battles.

Luvdisc's main ability sometimes allows it to support strategies based on chance or opponent disruption. Despite this, it is rarely chosen for optimized teams. Its best use is in personal challenges, themed teams, or for completing the Pokédex.

In Pokémon GO, Luvdisc is primarily sought after for collecting and seasonal events tied to love. It appears regularly during special events and can be useful for accumulating Candies or completing certain research tasks.
