Overview of Lilligant
Lilligant is a Grass type Pokémon introduced in the fifth generation and listed in the Pokédex of the Unova region. Its Japanese name is ドレディア. This Pokémon is known for its elegant appearance, inspired by a flower, as well as its very offensive battle orientation. Lilligant is an exclusively female Pokémon, which directly influences its breeding and availability in the Day Care.
In the general information of the Pokédex, Lilligant is described as a Pokémon that uses solar energy to strengthen its leaves and improve its Speed. Its standard form is green, with an imposing flower on its head, while its Hisuian form offers an interesting strategic variant with a dual Grass and Fighting type. This distinction is important for players seeking to optimise their teams depending on the generation or version of the game.
Type, Form, and Base Stats
Lilligant has the Grass type in its standard form. The Hisuian version profoundly changes its role through a more aggressive orientation. In terms of base stats, Lilligant stands out for its excellent Speed and high Special Attack, making it very effective at dealing fast damage. On the other hand, its Defense and HP remain relatively low, making it vulnerable to Fire, Flying, and Poison moves.
Its weight of approximately 16 kg places it among the lighter Pokémon, which has no direct impact in battle but remains useful information for certain specific moves or strategies. The recommended EVs are concentrated mainly on Speed and Special Attack in order to maximise its offensive potential.
Moves, Abilities, and Battle Role
Lilligant learns numerous Grass type moves focused on status and special power. Leaf Storm is one of its most iconic moves, offering excellent winning potential despite a temporary stat drop. It can also exploit sun-based abilities to increase its overall effectiveness.
Thanks to status moves and abilities that boost Speed or Special Attack, Lilligant can quickly gain the upper hand against slower opponents. In competitive battles, it is often used as a sweeper, capable of cleaning up an opposing team if counters have been eliminated.
Evolution, Capture, and Rate
Lilligant is the direct evolution of Petilil. The evolution is triggered by a Sun Stone, making its acquisition dependent on that specific item. Level is not a blocking factor, but the right evolution timing is crucial for learning certain moves before transformation.
In terms of capture, the rate remains moderate, sometimes requiring several attempts depending on the game version. Lilligant is not always available in the wild, which often pushes players to catch Petilil and then manage its evolution strategically.
Use in Games and the Trading Card Game
In recent games such as Pokémon GO or Scarlet and Violet, Lilligant retains a situational but effective role. Its Hisuian form, sometimes unavailable depending on the version, particularly attracts competitive players. In the Trading Card Game, Lilligant exists in several variants, sometimes as a Hisuian V version, with abilities oriented towards Speed and battle control.
These cards are sought after for their floral design and tactical potential, particularly in decks based on the Grass type. Lilligant thus remains a Pokémon appreciated as much for its aesthetics as for its in-game performance.
