DJ Rotom is an exclusive form of Rotom specific to Pokémon Pokopia, called the Hi-Fi System form. It is Electric/Normal type. The unique specimen bearing this name in the game has fused with a mini hi-fi system and was captivated by the synthpop CD it discovered inside. It has since acquired a particularly energetic personality.
Rotom is an Electric and Ghost type Pokémon from the fourth generation, known for its ability to take possession of electrical appliances. This characteristic, present in the main series games since Pokémon Platinum, is taken to the extreme in Pokémon Pokopia: Rotom fuses here with an abandoned hi-fi system in a world deserted by humans, and becomes its musical guardian.
Specialty and usefulness in the game
DJ Rotom specializes in the DJ function. This specialty allows it to play CDs and broadcast music in the player's environment. It can load up to five CDs simultaneously. Once the CDs are loaded, the Pokémon present in the area start dancing to the rhythm of the music, creating a unique atmosphere in each region of Pokopia.
The CDs that players collect throughout their adventure contain iconic themes from the main Pokémon game series. These include music from Pallet Town and the world of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, among others. In total, at least twenty-two CDs are available in the game at launch, with each disc's color referencing the cartridges of the original games.
CDs are found in two main places: on CD shelves hidden in the ruins of homes, and by digging up buried treasures in the ground. It is also possible to craft a CD player at the workbench to broadcast music in a specific area, independently of DJ Rotom.

DJ Rotom is found in the Collinangle region, the volcanic area of the game. To access it, you must first upgrade the Rock Smash ability by consuming a ground beef steak prepared with Scorbunny. This upgrade is temporary but essential to progress in the area.
The trigger for its discovery is a conversation with Scorbunny, located near the Pokémon Center of Collinangle. It signals hearing strange music coming from a pile of volcanic ash. By destroying this pile to the right of the Pokémon Center and progressing into the depths of the mountain, you come across harder rocks, breakable only with the upgraded Rock Smash ability. At the back of a secret room is DJ Rotom.
After its discovery, DJ Rotom joins the village and becomes the heart of the important request in Collinangle, titled "Let's Party!", which consists of organizing a big party and raising the region's atmosphere level to 100%.
