General overview of Pawmi
Pawmi is an Electric-type Pokémon introduced in the ninth generation. Its Japanese name is パモ. This small energetic rodent quickly became popular with players thanks to its central role in the evolutionary line leading to Pawmo and then Pawmot.
In the Pokédex, Pawmi is described as a Pokémon that uses electricity stored in its cheek pouches and paw pads. When it rubs its front paws together, it generates electrical energy that it can release during its attacks. Its small size and expressive appearance make it instantly recognizable, including in its Shiny form.
Type, base stats, and battle profile
Pawmi is exclusively Electric type. This type grants it useful resistances against Flying- and Steel-type attacks, but it remains weak against Ground-type moves. Its base stats are balanced for an early-generation Pokémon, with decent Speed and sufficient Attack for the first battles.
Its Defense is modest, which pushes players toward offensive or support strategies. In the main game, Pawmi is mainly used as a transitional Pokémon before its evolution, but it can surprise with its quickness and certain utility moves.
Key battle points
Pure Electric type with a Ground weakness
Good Speed for a basic Pokémon
Stats suited to the early adventure
Light offensive role or support depending on the moveset
Evolution and progression
Pawmi evolves into Pawmo by leveling up, which noticeably improves its overall stats, particularly Attack and Defense. The line then continues to Pawmot under specific conditions linked to walking and level, making it an original and memorable evolution for the generation.
This gradual evolution encourages players to keep Pawmi on their team from the start in order to fully benefit from its long-term potential. Each form brings a clear gain in power and versatility.
Available moves and abilities
Pawmi naturally learns several Electric-type moves such as Thunder Shock and Thunder Wave, ideal for dealing damage while slowing the opponent. It can also access Normal- and Fighting-type moves, providing decent coverage against several types.
With TMs, it is possible to adapt its moveset to the desired playstyle, prioritizing either Speed or battle control through paralysis.
Pawmi in Pokémon GO
In Pokémon GO, Pawmi is available to catch in the wild and during certain events. Its spawn rate is relatively decent, making it easy to collect Candy for its evolution. Its Shiny form is also available and highly sought after by collectors.
In GO battles, Pawmi is not intended for raids or as a boss-tier Pokémon, but it remains useful for completing the Pokédex and preparing the evolution into stronger forms. Its max CP remains limited, confining it to a secondary role.
Pokémon cards and collecting interest
Pawmi exists on several Pokémon cards from the Scarlet and Violet sets. These cards highlight its energetic character and its connection to electricity. In common or reverse-holo versions, it is easy to obtain, but certain Shiny or alternate-art prints can hold appeal for collectors.
Pawmi cards are often used in Electric-themed or evolution decks, serving as a foundation for strategies centered on Pawmo and Pawmot. Its visual popularity and its role in the generation make it durably attractive on the card market.
