Detailed information

Overview of Hattrem

Hattrem is a Pokémon of the Psychic type introduced in the eighth generation. Its English name is Hattrem and its Japanese name is ミブリム. This small Pokémon is listed in the Galar Pokédex under number 856. Hattrem is distinguished by its very particular role oriented toward status, healing, and disrupting opponents rather than dealing direct damage.

Hattrem has a discreet and fragile appearance, which is directly reflected in its base stats. It is often used early in battle to support an ally or disrupt an opponent through its Psychic abilities. In Pokémon Sword and Shield as well as Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, it is valued for its strategic potential rather than its raw power.

Type, stats, and base data of Hattrem

Hattrem is exclusively Psychic type, granting it useful resistances against Fighting and Psychic attacks, but also notable weaknesses to Ghost, Dark, and Bug types. Its HP is relatively low, requiring careful management of its positioning on the field.

Its base stats emphasize Special Defense and Special Attack, while physical Defense and Speed remain limited. This distribution makes it a Pokémon vulnerable in direct combat but effective at inflicting status conditions and supporting its team.

General stats

  • Modest HP, often requiring external support

  • Low Attack, rarely used

  • Acceptable Special Attack for a base Pokémon

  • High Special Defense for its level

  • Low Speed, often played in anticipation

Moves, attacks, and status conditions

Hattrem primarily learns Psychic-type moves geared toward control. It can inflict status conditions such as confusion or stat drops, which severely hinders opponents. Its moves do not aim for a quick KO but rather for a gradual gain of advantage.

Among its notable moves, Psyshock stands out, hitting the opponent's physical Defense despite using Special Attack, as well as support moves that can heal an ally or reduce an opponent's offensive effectiveness. Hattrem can also learn Dazzling Gleam later through evolution or TM, providing interesting coverage.

Strategic role

  • Team support through healing moves

  • Status conditions to weaken the opponent

  • Psychic pressure on Pokémon sensitive to the Psychic type

Evolution and useful in-game information

Hattrem evolves at level 32 into Hatterene, which marks a clear improvement in its stats and strategic potential. This evolution retains the Psychic type and strengthens its support role while increasing its offensive presence. The evolution is automatic and requires no special item.

On a team, Hattrem is rarely used long-term due to its limited stats, but it remains very useful early in the game or in specific strategies focused on field control and ally support.

Hattrem and the Pokémon Trading Card Game

In the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Hattrem appears primarily as a basic card centered on effects rather than damage. Its cards often highlight healing, disruption, or interaction with the emotions and status of other cards in play.

These cards are valued in certain strategic decks where managing tempo and survival take priority over raw power. Hattrem thus remains consistent with its role in the video games, offering a gameplay experience oriented around control and anticipation.
