Scrutella is a Psychic-type Pokémon introduced in the fifth generation. Known by its English name Gothita and its Japanese name ゴチム, this Pokémon originates from the Unova region and first appears in Pokémon Black and White. Scrutella stands out for its humanoid appearance and fixed gaze, often associated with its latent psychic powers.

In the Pokédex, Scrutella is described as a Pokémon capable of intensely observing its opponent to analyze their movements and emotions. Scrutella evolves into Gothorita starting at level 32, and then into Gothitelle afterward. This evolution considerably improves its stats, particularly in Special Attack and Defense, making the line much more viable in advanced battles. Scrutella thus represents a preparation stage before reaching the full potential of the Gothita line.
