Detailed information

Overview of Hisuian Typhlosion

Hisuian Typhlosion (#0157) belongs to the Ghost Fire Pokémon category. It stands at 1.6 m and weighs 69.8 kg. Its fur is more purplish and smoother than that of classic Typhlosion, particularly around its head where its fur appears slicked down. A band of dark fur, scattered with purple dots, runs along its neck. In battle, flames in purple and pink tones burst from this area, giving this Pokémon an immediately recognizable ghostly appearance.

Calm in nature, Hisuian Typhlosion stands out for its refined and graceful movements. Legend attributes to it the power to purify lost souls with its flames before sending them back to the afterlife. Its Ghost type is said to be linked to the influence of the Crown Mountain, the sacred mountain at the heart of the Hisui region.

Type and abilities of Hisuian Typhlosion

Unlike classic Typhlosion which is Fire type only, the Hisuian form adds the Ghost type. This Fire-Ghost combination gives it a different offensive profile and broader coverage against certain types.

  • Type: Fire / Ghost

  • Main ability - Blaze: increases the power of Fire-type moves when its HP falls below 1/3

  • Hidden ability - Frisk: allows you to know the item held by the opponent at the start of battle

Leveling up grants +3 in Special Attack per battle. Hisuian Typhlosion is the only Pokémon able to learn the signature move Infernal Parade, a Ghost-type attack.

Evolution of Hisuian Typhlosion

Hisuian Typhlosion is the final stage of the evolution chain starting from Cyndaquil. In Hisui, Cyndaquil evolves into Quilava at level 17, then Quilava evolves into Hisuian Typhlosion at level 36.
