Detailed information

General overview of Mega Swampert

This Water and Ground type Pokémon comes from the Hoenn region and has a Mega form that considerably increases its base stats. The transformation into Mega improves particularly its attack, defense and HP, making it a formidable Pokémon in strategic battles.

Standing approximately 1.9 m tall and weighing over 102 kg, Mega Swampert has impressive musculature. Its Mega form allows it to move more efficiently in water and on land, despite a relatively average speed compared to other Mega Evolutions.

Mega Swampert's base stats

Mega Swampert's base stats increase greatly during Mega Evolution. This form primarily improves the Pokémon's offensive power and defense.

  • HP: 100

  • Attack: very high

  • Defense: high

  • Special Attack: average

  • Special Defense: adequate

  • Speed: average

Thanks to these stats, Mega Swampert becomes a Pokémon capable of dealing heavy damage while absorbing many attacks. In certain competitive formats, it can reach its maximum power at level 50 or the maximum level depending on the battle rules.

Type and weaknesses

Mega Swampert has the dual Water and Ground type. This type combination allows it to resist several common attacks in Pokémon battles.

  • Type: Water / Ground

  • Main weakness: Grass type

  • Resistances: Fire, Rock, Poison, Steel

Its main weakness remains Grass type attacks which can deal very significant damage. Trainers must therefore be careful of this weakness during battles against certain specialized Pokémon.

Mega Swampert in battle

In battle, Mega Swampert is often used as a powerful physical attacker. Its strength allows it to use very powerful moves like Earthquake which deals heavy damage on the field.

Among the moves learned by Mega Swampert you will find:

  • Earthquake

  • Ice Punch

  • Waterfall

  • Mud Shot

These moves allow several opposing types to be covered and its physical power to be exploited. In certain strategies, an offensive set with Earthquake and Waterfall allows the damage dealt to the opponent to be maximized.

Mega Swampert in Pokémon GO and raids

In Pokémon GO, Mega Swampert is available in Mega Raids and can be obtained thanks to Mega Energy accumulated after several victories. Once Mega Evolution is activated, this Pokémon becomes particularly effective during battles against raid bosses.

Its maximum CP can reach a very high level when used at level 50 with optimized IVs and suitable EVs. Its power makes it one of the best Water Pokémon available in certain battles.

Rainy weather can also improve the Water type attacks used by Mega Swampert. This further increases its ability to deal damage during battles.

Evolution and Pokédex information

Mega Swampert is the temporary evolution of Swampert when it uses the specific Mega Stone enabling Mega Evolution. In the Pokédex, this form is described as a transformation that increases its muscular power and battle capacity.

In the main games, Swampert evolves from Marshtomp which itself comes from Mudkip. Once Mega Evolution is triggered, Swampert adopts a much more massive and formidable form.

This information makes Mega Swampert an iconic Pokémon of the Hoenn region and one of the most appreciated Mega Evolutions by players looking for a powerful Pokémon for strategic battles.
