General overview of Galarian Slowking
Galarian Slowking belongs to the Hexpert Pokémon category. It stands 1.8 m tall and weighs 79.5 kg. Its most striking visual feature is the Shellder that completely covers its head — unlike the standard form where it only covers part of it. This Shellder, whose horns are shorter and purple, completely controls the Slowking through the toxins it injects. These toxins alter the appearance of its body: the tip of the tail, the upper torso and the collar display a characteristic purplish tint.
Its Shiny variant is distinguished by the parts that are usually purple turning bluish, and a pinkish pearl on the Shellder.
Form and evolution
Galarian Slowking is the evolution of Galarian Slowpoke. The evolution is triggered by exposing Galarian Slowpoke to a Galarica Wreath. Galarian Slowpoke can also evolve into Galarian Slowbro via a Galarica Cuff — two distinct evolution paths from the same base form.
Type and abilities
Galarian Slowking is Poison and Psychic type. It has three abilities:
Curious Medicine — resets allies' stat changes upon entering battle.
Own Tempo — makes the Pokémon immune to confusion.
Regenerator (hidden ability) — restores one third of HP when the Pokémon switches out of battle.
Notable moves
Galarian Slowking has a signature move: Eerie Spell, a Psychic-type Special category attack dealing 80 power. It is the only Pokémon that can learn it. Among its other main moves, you will find Psychic (Psychic type, 90 power), Surf (Water type, 90 power), Acid (Poison type) and Confusion (Psychic type).
Galarian Slowking in Pokémon Sword and Shield
Galarian Slowking makes its debut in Pokémon Sword and Shield, where it is obtained exclusively by evolving Galarian Slowpoke. It is not available in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond or Pokémon Shining Pearl. It reappears in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet via 6-star Tera Raid Battles.
