Detailed information

General overview of Mega Scolipede

In the games, Scolipede is already known for its very high Speed and its role as a physical attacker. The Mega form further accentuates these characteristics, making it a formidable Pokémon in battle. In the Pokédex of Pokémon Legends and notably in Legends: Z-A, Mega Scolipede is described as a creature whose poison becomes even more virulent after Mega Evolution.

Scolipede's number in the Pokédex corresponds to the evolutionary family starting with Venipede. This line includes Venipede, Whirlipede, then Scolipede before reaching its Mega form. This evolutionary progression is important for players who want to optimize EVs and battle power.

Appearance and characteristics

After Mega Evolution, Scolipede's body is covered with a segmented purplish-grey armor. Each segment has small pink claws and purple and black rings visible on the inner parts. This appearance accentuates the Bug aspect of the Pokémon while highlighting its Poison type.

Mega Scolipede's horns become much longer and their tips resemble turquoise translucent blades. Its tail splits into two parts and presents the same patterns as its horns. The outlines of its eyes and the first segment of its armor are also turquoise, while pink markings appear on each of its legs.

The Pokémon retains a long and fast silhouette, which perfectly matches its very high Speed stat. In a competitive battle, this Speed often allows it to attack directly before the opponent.

Evolutionary family

Mega Scolipede belongs to the Venipede evolutionary family:

  • Venipede evolves at level 22 into Whirlipede

  • Whirlipede evolves at level 30 into Scolipede

  • Scolipede can Mega Evolve into Mega Scolipede with a Scolipedite

This progressive evolution is important in the game as it allows the base stats, HP, and offensive capabilities of the Pokémon to increase. Players can also adapt the nature and EVs to improve its role as a fast attacker.

Stats and battle role

In the Pokémon games, Mega Scolipede is especially known for its exceptional Speed and its offensive power. Its main role is that of an attacker capable of launching Poison or Bug moves before the opponent.

Its base stats favor Speed and physical Attack, making it an effective Pokémon for dealing damage quickly. In a competitive battle, it can be used to put pressure from the start of a turn.

Players can improve its effectiveness through a good EV spread and an appropriate nature. In certain strategies, Mega Scolipede also serves to weaken multiple opposing Pokémon in a match thanks to its speed.

Moves and capabilities

Mega Scolipede can learn various Bug and Poison type moves. These moves exploit its Speed and power to hit quickly. Some moves can be obtained by leveling up while others are learned via TM.

Poison moves are particularly useful against Grass or Fairy type Pokémon. Bug moves can deal heavy damage to Psychic or Dark type Pokémon.

In a competitive battle, it is common to use Mega Scolipede as a direct attacker to take advantage of its Speed. This strategy often allows you to gain the advantage from the very first turns of a confrontation.

Mega Scolipede in the Pokédex and games

In the Pokédex descriptions of Legends: Z-A, Mega Scolipede is described as a Pokémon whose poison emits a faint glow. This transformation influences its behavior and makes it even more aggressive.

This Bug and Poison type Pokémon also stands out for its imposing size and its weight expressed in kg in the Pokédex data. Its Mega form further reinforces its threatening appearance and its role as a fast predator.

For players, Mega Scolipede represents a very interesting evolution of Scolipede. Its Speed, power, and access to various moves make it a strategic choice in several competitive teams.
