Overview of Mega Magearna

In the Pokédex, Mega Magearna is described as an improved version of Magearna capable of releasing more internal energy through Mega Evolution. This form is larger and its metallic body becomes more imposing. The Mega Evolution also changes its primary color, which becomes red and golden depending on the active form.

Type and general characteristics

Like Magearna, Mega Magearna retains its dual Steel and Fairy type. This dual type allows it to resist many types in strategic battles. In the game, this Pokémon is known for its high Special Attack and good Defense, which allows it to be used as a special attacker or as defensive support.

In the game, Mega Magearna has two different forms. The first is the standard form, while the second is called the Original Color form. The difference between these two forms concerns only the Pokémon's appearance and color.

The Original Color form recalls an ancient mechanism installed around 500 years ago to suppress Magearna's internal limiter. In the Pokédex of Legends: Pokémon Z-A, this transformation is associated with a hidden mode allowing the Pokémon to release all of its energy.

Within its evolution family, Magearna can transform into Mega Magearna through a specific Mega Stone called the Magearnite. This evolution occurs only during battle when a Trainer activates the Mega Evolution.
