General overview of Mega Lopunny
In the games, this Mega Evolution strongly modifies the stats and battle style of the Pokémon. Mega Lopunny becomes an extremely fast and offensive fighter. Players particularly appreciate this Pokémon for its high Speed and effective physical moves in competitive battles.
In the evolution family, Buneary first evolves into Lopunny when it has a sufficiently high friendship level and gains a level. Lopunny can then Mega Evolve into Mega Lopunny during battle if it holds a Lopunnite.
Appearance and description
Since Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Lopunny can Mega Evolve into Mega Lopunny. In this form, its behavior changes greatly and it becomes much more aggressive, revealing a true fighting instinct.
The transformation also changes its appearance. A large portion of the fur on its neck, the top of its body, its fingers and its legs disappears. This change creates markings on its legs that resemble torn tights. The tufts of fur above its eyes merge to form a single butterfly-shaped crest.
The fur around its wrists and hips becomes more rounded and less voluminous. Its ears also lengthen and take on the appearance of long braids. The fur on these ears now only covers two sections of each ear.
While Lopunny resembles a model wearing fur gloves and boots, Mega Lopunny adopts a style inspired by the aerobics outfits of the 1980s. This design reinforces its dynamic and sporty appearance.
Stats and ability
Mega Evolution improves the Pokémon's base stats. Mega Lopunny becomes particularly effective in Attack and Speed, allowing it to strike quickly in battle.
Its ability becomes Scrappy. This ability has a very useful strategic effect as it allows Normal and Fighting type moves to hit Ghost type Pokémon, which are normally immune to these types of moves.
Thanks to this ability and its high stats, Mega Lopunny can be used as a fast physical attacker in many teams.
Differences and Shiny form
There is no difference between male and female Mega Lopunny. Their appearance remains identical regardless of their gender.
When Shiny, the normally chocolate-brown fur of Mega Lopunny becomes a pastel brown. The fluffy fur on its legs and ears then takes on a pink color, giving this Shiny form an appearance very different from the standard version.
Pokédex entries
The Pokédex entries highlight this Pokémon's combative temperament after its Mega Evolution.
In Pokémon Ultra Sun, it is described as a Pokémon with a violent temperament that uses its ears as whips to discipline its opponents.
In Pokémon Ultra Moon, the Pokédex explains that the Mega Evolution awakened its fighting spirit and that it shed some of its superfluous fur in order to fight more effectively.
In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Mega Lopunny is presented as a combative and aggressive Pokémon that uses its long ears as whips to strike its opponents during battles.
