General overview of Hisuian Goodra
Hisuian Goodra differs markedly from its modern form. Its tail and grey shell have fused to form a natural armor. Its antennae are longer, and the fluid present on its arms, head, and tail spots takes on a grey hue. It is often depicted with a melancholic expression.
Its design is likely inspired by the scaly-foot gastropod, a sea snail whose foot is covered in mineral scales and whose shell is reinforced with pyrite.
Type and species
Hisuian Goodra is a Steel and Dragon type. It belongs to the category Shell Armor Pokémon. It measures 1.7 m and weighs 334.1 kg at standard size. Its gender ratio is equal: 50% male, 50% female.
Base stats
Hisuian Goodra has stats focused on Special Defense, making it a resistance-oriented Pokémon. Each individual defeated or caught grants +3 Special Defense (EV). It yields 270 base experience points and requires 1,250,000 experience to reach level 100.
Evolution
Hisuian Goodra is the final stage of the Goomy evolutionary line in the Hisui region. Goomy evolves into Hisuian Sliggoo starting at level 40, provided it is in the Hisui region. Hisuian Sliggoo then evolves into Hisuian Goodra starting at level 50, in rain or fog.
Outside of Hisui, the same line produces Sliggoo then Goodra (standard form), under the same weather conditions.
Abilities
Sap Sipper: negates incoming Grass-type moves and increases the Pokémon's Attack.
Shell Armor: the Pokémon is protected from critical hits thanks to its shell.
Gooey (hidden ability): reduces the attacker's Speed when Hisuian Goodra is hit by a direct move.
Notable moves
Hisuian Goodra and its evolutionary line are the only Pokémon capable of learning Shelter, its signature Steel-type move. Among its other moves learned by level-up, notable examples include Iron Head, Dragon Pulse, Water Pulse, and Hydro Pump.
