During its Mega Evolution, Glalie undergoes a striking visual transformation. Its jaw completely dislocates, letting out a permanent cold mist. A third icy protrusion appears in the middle of its forehead, its pupils turn red, and its overall expression becomes far more threatening. The rock that makes up its body becomes more voluminous and slightly lighter in color.

To obtain this Mega form in the main games, Glalie must hold the Glalitite item during battle. As a reminder, Glalie is itself the evolution of Snorunt starting at level 42.

Ability and offensive potential

Mega Glalie's ability is called Refrigerate. This ability converts all Normal-type moves into Ice-type moves, with a slight power bonus on top. This radically changes the way to build its moveset, as moves that are normally neutral become powerful Ice-type attacks.

This ability is particularly interesting as it allows moves like Double Kick or Return to be used as Ice-type attacks, which considerably broadens the available offensive options. Players who make good use of Refrigerate can catch opponents off guard who are not expecting it.

Use in strategic battle

In battle, Mega Glalie plays the role of an offensive attacker. Its base stats are oriented toward Special Attack and Speed, allowing it to exert immediate pressure from the moment it enters the field.
