General overview of Mega Camerupt

In the National Pokédex, Camerupt holds #323 and belongs to the generation introduced in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. Mega Camerupt greatly amplifies the Pokémon's offensive capabilities, particularly thanks to the volcanic energy accumulated in the volcanoes on its back. This description is often associated with legends speaking of an eruption capable of transforming an entire area into a burning terrain.

In strategic games, Mega Camerupt is recognized for its very high offensive stats and its special Ability called Solid Rock. This Ability reduces the effect of super effective attacks, which improves its resilience despite significant vulnerabilities to certain types such as Water or Ground.

Stats and characteristics in the Pokémon games

In the games, Mega Camerupt stands out for its extremely high Special Attack. Its strategic role relies primarily on raw power and its ability to launch very destructive attacks.

  • Type - Fire and Ground

  • Special Ability - Solid Rock

  • Special Attack - very high

  • Speed - very low

  • Offensively oriented stats

Thanks to its stats, Mega Camerupt is often used in slow but powerful strategies. Players take advantage of its power to launch moves like Eruption or Flamethrower that can deal heavy damage. Its low Speed level, however, requires anticipating opposing attacks.

Strategic use and optimization

To fully exploit Mega Camerupt in competitive games, players optimize EVs and IVs to improve its offensive performance. The standard EV spread favors Special Attack and HP in order to maximize the power of its attacks.

In a doubles strategy, this Pokémon can become very dangerous when supported by partners capable of controlling Speed or creating field effects. Some teams use, for example, moves that slow down opponents so that Mega Camerupt attacks first.

Mega Camerupt in the Pokémon TCG

In the Pokémon TCG, Mega Camerupt appears primarily as Mega Camerupt EX. These Pokémon cards are often sought after by collectors and by players who appreciate powerful Fire type Pokémon.

Mega Camerupt EX cards generally have very powerful attacks inspired by the Pokémon's volcanic eruption. Some cards deal significant damage but require a lot of Energy to use.

  • Cards from boxes or special series

  • Promotional versions in certain stores

The price of these cards can vary depending on rarity, condition and the artwork used. A Mega Camerupt EX card in good condition can reach an interesting average value on the Pokémon card market, especially when it comes from a popular series of the Pokémon TCG.

Collecting and value of Mega Camerupt cards

In Pokémon card collections, Mega Camerupt draws attention thanks to its volcanic design and its spectacular artwork. Versions with shiny effects or full artwork are particularly sought after.

Collectors often keep an eye out for new appearances of Camerupt EX or Mega Camerupt in special boxes and in certain Pokémon TCG expansions. The average prices depend on the card's print run and on the popularity of the generation it belongs to.

For players and collectors alike, Mega Camerupt remains an important entry in the Pokédex thanks to its unique style, its power in the games and its regular presence in strategic Pokémon TCG cards.
