Detailed information

General overview of Hisuian Avalugg

Hisuian Avalugg differs markedly from its Kalos form. Its quadrupedal body is partially composed of brown rock, while its flat back - diamond-shaped - is covered in ice. Its most striking characteristic is its lower jaw adorned with an imposing silver frosted protrusion, resembling the blades of a snowplow. According to the Pokédex, this ice armor allows it to break rocks harder than steel and carve a path through the thick snow of mountain trails.

Its standard size is 1.4 m with a weight of 262.4 kg. There is no visual difference between male and female individuals.

Evolution

Hisuian Avalugg is the evolution of Bergmite starting at level 37, exclusively in the Hisui region. Outside this region, Bergmite evolves into standard Avalugg at the same level.

Abilities

Hisuian Avalugg has three abilities:

  • Strong Jaw - increases the power of biting moves.

  • Ice Body - restores 1/16 of HP during hailstorms.

  • Sturdy (hidden ability) - allows the Pokémon to survive at least one hit when at full HP, and grants immunity to one-hit KO moves.

Notable moves

Hisuian Avalugg is the only Pokémon capable of learning Mountain Gale, its signature move. Its offensive profile is anchored in Ice and Rock types, with moves like Blizzard, Stone Edge, Rock Slide, and Crunch. It can also learn Ground-type moves like Earthquake, enhancing its versatility in battle.
