Hisuian Arcanine is a Pokémon in the Legendary category. It stands 2.0 m tall and weighs 168.0 kg. Its dual Fire and Rock type sets it apart from the classic Arcanine, which is solely a Fire type.
Its design is inspired by the shīsā, protective statues present in East Asian culture, halfway between a lion and a dog. This origin explains its Rock type and its role as a guardian in the lore of Hisui. Its dark fur covers a large part of its chest, paws, and tail. Around its neck, it forms large pointed tufts marked with red.
The Pokédex description states that it bites with its fangs wreathed in blazing flames. Despite its large size, it moves with startling agility, to the point of seeming to dance around its enemies.
