General overview of Florges
Florges is a Fairy type Pokémon introduced in the sixth generation. It is the final form of Flabébé and then Floette, an evolution obtained through the use of a Shiny Stone. The English name of Florges is Florges and its Japanese name is フラージェス. This Pokémon is closely tied to gardens and natural energy, which it absorbs and channels into Fairy power.
Florges is recognized in the Pokédex for its elegant appearance and its mastery of light and natural forces. It exists in several flower forms, corresponding to the different colors seen in Flabébé and Floette, which has an aesthetic impact but no strategic bearing in battle.
Type, role, and battle utility
Type and weaknesses
Florges is a pure Fairy type Pokémon. This type gives it excellent resistance to Fighting, Dragon, and Dark type moves. Its main weaknesses, however, are Poison and Steel type moves, which represent a real danger in competitive battle.
Strategic role
Thanks to its stats oriented toward Special Defense and HP, Florges is primarily used as a special wall. It excels in prolonged battles, where it can absorb repeated attacks while supporting its team with healing and support moves. Its nature is often chosen to maximize its resilience or overall endurance.
Stats and maximum potential
Stat distribution
Florges has a very high Special Defense stat, making it one of the best bulwarks against special attacks of its generation. Its Special Attack is decent, sufficient to deal respectable damage with Fairy type moves. Its physical Defense, on the other hand, is weaker, which requires good anticipation of threats.
At maximum level, with a well-planned EV spread and an appropriate nature, Florges can achieve an excellent balance between survivability and offensive pressure. EVs are generally invested in HP and Special Defense in order to optimize its defensive role.
Recommended moves and abilities
Main moves
Florges has a wide selection of Fairy type moves based on energy and light. Moonblast is one of its most commonly used moves, offering solid power and a chance to lower the opponent's Special Attack. Fairy Wind provides a faster and more reliable option depending on the format.
Support and utility
In addition to its offensive moves, Florges learns healing moves that are highly valued in strategic battles. Aromatherapy allows it to cure all of the team's status conditions, while Wish is used to restore HP to allies. These moves considerably enhance its value in team battles.
Evolution and available forms
Evolutionary line
Florges is the final evolution of Floette. Evolution is triggered by a Shiny Stone, with no level requirement. This evolution marks a significant jump in stats, particularly in Special Defense and HP, making Florges far more viable in advanced battles.
Different flower forms
Florges exists in several visual forms tied to the color of its flower. Notable forms include White Flower, Yellow Flower, Orange Flower, and Blue Flower. These variations do not affect stats or moves, but they are highly sought after by collectors and Pokémon card enthusiasts.
Florges in the games and the card game
In the main games, Florges is often associated with verdant areas and gardens, reinforcing its connection to nature and the surrounding greenery. It is appreciated for its consistency in battle and its ability to stabilize a team.
In the trading card game, Florges generally appears as a card focused on support and energy recovery. Its value depends on the edition, rarity, and the form depicted, with some versions being sought after more for their artwork than for their raw power.
