Detailed information
Overview of Enamorus
Enamorus is a Legendary Pokémon introduced in the eighth generation. Its French name is Amovénus and its Japanese name is ラブトロス. It is part of the Forces of Nature quartet and stands out for its offensive and strategic orientation, both in battle and in the Trading Card Game.
Enamorus is Fairy and Flying type in its Incarnate Forme — a particularly interesting dual typing for players looking to counter Dragon, Fighting, and Dark types. In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, it occupies a unique place thanks to its late role in the adventure and its stats oriented toward Special Attack.
Forms and in-game characteristics
Incarnate Forme and Therian Forme
Enamorus has two distinct forms. The Incarnate Forme is the most common and the one used in the majority of standard battles. It offers good Speed and high Special Attack, making it a very threatening Pokémon in the early or mid-game.
The Therian Forme slightly alters its profile. It sacrifices some Speed in exchange for improved Defense, allowing for a bulkier usage in certain strategic team compositions. This form is particularly appreciated in formats where longevity is paramount.
Stats and competitive orientation
Enamorus stands out for a very high Special Attack, ideal for exploiting powerful Fairy moves. Its decent Speed allows it to outpace many defensive Pokémon, but it often requires solid support when facing fast sweepers.
In EV training, players generally favor a spread focused on Special Attack and Speed to maximize offensive pressure. A more defensive version can also be played by investing in HP depending on the team composition.
Useful moves and abilities
Key moves
Enamorus has an excellent Fairy and Flying-oriented movepool. Moves like Moonblast allow it to deal heavy damage while having a chance to lower the opponent's Special Attack. Hurricane remains a powerful option, though dependent on accuracy.
It can also learn interesting coverage moves to surprise certain counters, making it difficult to predict when played well.
Primary ability
Its signature ability reinforces its strategic identity. It allows it to punish certain opposing playstyles, particularly those based on stat modifications. This makes Enamorus an excellent choice against teams heavily focused on setup.
Enamorus in the Pokémon TCG
Collectable cards and competitive interest
Enamorus exists as a Pokémon card in several recent expansions. Collectors are particularly interested in shiny versions and promotional cards, which are often sought for their rarity and visual appeal.
In the card game, Enamorus is mainly used as a secondary attacker. Its cards generally highlight Fairy attacks capable of exploiting common weaknesses in the format. Its Energy cost is often reasonable, facilitating integration into a variety of decks.
Value for collectors
Enamorus cards also attract attention due to their membership in a family of iconic Legendary Pokémon. This makes them a good investment for players who wish to both strengthen their deck and enrich their collection with cards that have strong visual identities.
