General overview of Dhelmise

Dhelmise is a Pokémon of the Ghost and Grass type, known in French as Sinistrail and in Japanese as ダダリン. Introduced in the seventh generation, this Pokémon stands out for its unique design inspired by a haunted anchor, giving it a very distinctive identity both in battle and in the Pokédex.

Dhelmise does not evolve and has only one form. It is classified as a solitary Pokémon, often associated with shipwrecks and the ocean floor. For players, it is an atypical Pokémon that can surprise with its raw power and access to a variety of moves.

Type and role in battle

The dual Ghost and Grass typing gives Dhelmise a distinctive defensive profile. It benefits from useful immunities and interesting resistances, while retaining clear weaknesses against certain offensive types. In battle, Dhelmise is generally used as a physical attacker, capable of applying significant pressure on the opponent.

Its indirect access to the Steel type through certain moves further enhances its versatility. This allows Dhelmise to hit Pokémon that normally resist the Grass or Ghost type effectively, making it a strategic choice in certain teams.

Base stats

Dhelmise's base stats are oriented toward Attack. Its offensive power is one of its main assets, allowing it to deal high damage without requiring lengthy setup. Its Defense is decent, while its Speed remains relatively low, which often requires anticipating the opponent's actions.

In terms of overall stats, Dhelmise positions itself as a solid but specialized Pokémon. It does not excel in every area, but its role is clear and effective when used correctly.

Moves and useful abilities

Dhelmise has a wide selection of Grass and Ghost-type moves, allowing it to make full use of its dual typing. Some of its signature moves are particularly fearsome in battle, especially those based on physical power.

  • Powerful Grass-type moves ideal for breaking through opposing defenses

  • Ghost-type moves effective against Psychic and Ghost-type Pokémon

  • Coverage moves to surprise common counters

This move pool makes Dhelmise dangerous in both solo battles and more strategic formats.

Weaknesses and limitations

Despite its qualities, Dhelmise has notable weaknesses. Its limited Speed makes it vulnerable to fast Pokémon capable of knocking it out before it can attack. Certain type weaknesses can also be exploited by well-prepared opponents.

It therefore requires good anticipation and sometimes team support to reach its full potential, particularly through well-timed switches.

Dhelmise in Pokémon GO and cards

In Pokémon GO, Dhelmise is sometimes unavailable depending on the period, which makes it sought after by collectors. When accessible, its maximum CP and power make it an interesting choice for certain specific battles, even if it remains situational.

On the card side, Dhelmise benefits from highly appreciated artwork thanks to its imposing design. Cards featuring Dhelmise are often sought after more for their aesthetics than for their competitive dominance, making them a great addition for collectors.
