Overview of Aromatisse

Aromatisse is a Fairy-type Pokémon introduced in the sixth generation. Its English name is Aromatisse and its Japanese name is シュシュプ. It is recognizable by its appearance inspired by a small delicate bird, often associated with perfumes, eggs, and the world of care. Aromatisse holds a special place in the Pokédex thanks to its concept centered on scents and support rather than brute force.

For players, Aromatisse is best known as the base form leading to Aromatisse's evolution, appreciated for its defensive stats and strategic utility. Aromatisse generally appears in the wild at low levels, making it an accessible Pokémon from the early hours of gameplay in the versions where it is available.

Type and Weaknesses

Aromatisse is exclusively Fairy-type. This type grants it good resistance to Fighting, Bug, and Dark-type attacks, which can be useful in certain battles. However, it remains vulnerable to Poison and Steel-type attacks, important weaknesses to keep in mind when catching or training it.

Its type also allows it to learn Psychic and support-oriented moves, which reinforces its defensive and tactical role within a team.

Stats and Potential

Aromatisse's base stats are modest, with decent HP but limited Attack and Defense. Its most interesting stat is often its Special Defense, which allows it to absorb certain special attacks without too much difficulty for a base Pokémon.

At low levels, Aromatisse is not designed to deal heavy damage. It is more often used as a stepping stone toward evolution or as temporary support on a strategy-oriented team. Competitive players are mainly interested in it to prepare an Aromatisse with a good EV spread and an appropriate nature.

Evolution and Conditions

Aromatisse evolves into Aromatisse through a trade while holding a specific item. This evolution mechanic makes it unique, as it requires interaction with another player. Once evolved, Aromatisse gains a clear stat advantage, particularly in HP and Special Defense.

This evolution transforms Aromatisse from a fragile Pokémon into a true defensive pillar capable of supporting a team over the long term, particularly in strategic battles or raids.

Moves and Learnset

Aromatisse primarily learns Fairy and Psychic-type moves. These moves are often geared toward support, such as reducing the opponent's stats or inflicting status conditions. It can also learn a few utility moves useful for disrupting the opponent rather than dealing direct damage.

Through TMs, it is possible to slightly expand its movepool, even if its offensive potential remains limited until evolution.

Utility in the Games and Pokémon GO

In the main games, Aromatisse is rarely used long-term in competitive battle, but it retains strategic value as an evolution base. In Pokémon GO, it is mainly sought to complete the Pokédex and prepare its evolution, although its maximum CP remains low compared to other Fairy-type Pokémon.

Its availability varies depending on versions and events, which can affect its catch rate and its appeal for collectors.

Cards and Collection

Aromatisse also exists as collectible cards, often highlighted for their soft and fragrant artwork. These cards are appreciated by collectors more for their aesthetics than for their in-game strength. They fit well into sets focused on Fairy-type Pokémon or themes related to eggs and breeding.

For players and collectors alike, Aromatisse remains an iconic Pokémon of the sixth generation, appreciated for its original concept and its key role in the evolution into Aromatisse.
