July 2026 Monthly Challenge: the new Pokémon Champions competition

The July 2026 Monthly Challenge is the next official competition running in Pokémon Champions. It takes place from 24 to 27 July 2026 and uses the M-B regulations, in force since June. This article covers the registration period, the age divisions, the team restrictions and the rewards handed out once the rankings are published.

Registration and competition dates

Registration opens on 17 July 2026 at 4:00 a.m. and remains available until 27 July 2026 at 3:59 a.m., French time. The ranked battles themselves run over a shorter window, from 24 July 2026 at 4:00 a.m. to 27 July 2026 at 3:59 a.m.

The three age divisions

As with previous Pokémon Champions competitions, participants are split into three separate divisions based on their year of birth.

  • Junior: players born in 2014 or later
  • Senior: players born between 2010 and 2013
  • Master: players born in 2009 or earlier

M-B regulations for the July 2026 Monthly Challenge

The M-B regulations began on 17 June 2026 at 4:00 a.m. and will end on 2 September 2026 at 3:59 a.m., French time. They allow Pokémon that can currently be recruited in the game, including those transferred from Pokémon HOME.

Eligible Pokémon

  • Pokémon available in game as part of the M-B selection
  • Other Pokémon capable of Mega Evolving, listed in game

Ineligible Pokémon

  • Any Pokémon that does not fall into one of the categories listed above

Battle format and team restrictions

Matches are played in Single Battle 3-on-3 or Double Battle 4-on-4 format. Several restrictions apply to Battle Team composition.

  • Pokémon must have been obtained in game or transferred from Pokémon HOME
  • Two Pokémon sharing the same Pokédex number cannot appear on the same team
  • All Pokémon are automatically set to Level 50 for the duration of each battle
  • All held items are allowed, but two Pokémon cannot hold the same item

Timing is also regulated: 90 seconds to select the three or four Pokémon sent into battle, 45 seconds per turn to choose an action, and seven minutes of personal time. A battle cannot exceed 20 minutes in total.

Prizes and titles

Players who complete at least three matches, won or lost, receive a participation reward once the results are published: Mawile, 100 Speed Coupons and the Underdog (MCS 07/2026) title.

Additional titles are awarded according to the final ranking.

  • 1st to 10th place: Ace (MCS 07/2026)
  • 11th to 100th place: Veteran (MCS 07/2026)
  • 101st to 1,000th place: Top (MCS 07/2026)
  • 1,001st to 10,000th place: Rookie (MCS 07/2026)
