Pitch Black Pokémon Cards

Pitch Black belongs to the Mega Evolution series and is the direct sequel to Chaos Rising within the Pokémon TCG. The expansion extends the series' identity around three pillars: the power of Mega Evolutions, refined artwork and mechanics geared towards competitive play. This time the theme takes on a darker tone, in keeping with the name of the expansion.

With more than 115 cards, including more than 20 Trainer cards and more than 35 cards with special illustrations, Pitch Black adopts a slightly tighter format than Chaos Rising. The special illustrations depict both Pokémon and Trainers, in a visual atmosphere marked by darkness.

Mega Evolution Pokémon-ex and gameplay

Mega Evolution Pokémon-ex are at the heart of Pitch Black. Four are officially confirmed so far:

• Mega Darkrai ex - presented as the central card of the expansion
• Mega Zeraora ex
• Mega Chandelure ex
• Mega Excadrill ex

These Pokémon are described as unleashing a frightening power, which suggests pronounced offensive mechanics, in continuity with what Transcendent Heroes and Chaos Rising offered with their own Mega Evolution Pokémon-ex.
