Mega Evolution - Pitch Black is a Pokémon TCG expansion belonging to the Mega Evolution series. It has been available since July 17, 2026. Pitch Black is the direct follow-up to Chaos Rising within the Mega Evolution series. The expansion carries on the identity of the series across three pillars: the power of Mega Evolutions, refined artwork and mechanics geared towards competitive play. This time the theme takes a darker turn, in keeping with the set name and with the Mega Dimension DLC of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the source of several Mega Evolutions in the set.

Mega Evolution Pokémon ex and gameplay
Mega Evolution Pokémon ex are at the heart of Pitch Black. Four of them were highlighted by The Pokémon Company:
- Mega Darkrai ex - the central card of the expansion, also available as a Mega Hyper Rare
- Mega Zeraora ex
- Mega Chandelure ex
- Mega Excadrill ex
The Mega Evolution Pokémon ex cards in the set feature a textured finish. Pitch Black is built around the Darkness, Psychic and Fighting types, following on from what Mega Ascension and Chaos Rising offered with their own Mega Evolution Pokémon ex.
