Detailed information

The 30th Celebration expansion marks 30 years of the Pokémon TCG. It stands out with an unprecedented concept: every card in the set is foil, including Basic Energy cards. It's the first expansion built entirely around this visual treatment. It combines new features, a brand-new rarity and the return of iconic cards from the game's history.

The simultaneous worldwide release on September 16, 2026 will let fans around the world collect the new cards at the same time, with no gap between regions.

"Futuristic rare" cards and new Pokémon ex

The expansion introduces a new rarity called "Futuristic rare", defined by an evocative illustration style never before seen in the Pokémon TCG. The first cards in this rarity feature Mewtwo ex and Mew ex, illustrated by Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN.

On the gameplay side, the expansion confirms four Pokémon ex so far: Mewtwo and Mew, on their "Futuristic rare" cards, plus two newcomers, Greninja and Sylveon.

Full details on attacks, HP and gameplay synergies will be added as soon as they are officially published.

30 brand-new Pikachu illustrations

Every booster pack in the expansion contains one of 30 different Pikachu cards, each with a unique illustration. Three have already been revealed, illustrated by OKACHEKE, Yuu Nishida and Atsuko Nishida respectively. The other 27 remain to be discovered in upcoming official previews.

Pokémon in the spotlight

The expansion brings together fan-favorite Pokémon from different regions. Several appear on "Illustration Rare" cards:

  • Espeon and Umbreon, shown in full activity;
  • Lapras, Drifloon, Zorua and Lycanroc on "Illustration Rare" cards.

More Pokémon are yet to be revealed in this expansion — stay tuned for upcoming previews.

Return of classic cards

To celebrate their place in the game's history, classic cards are making a comeback, such as Charizard from the Base Set as well as Pikachu and Zekrom-GX from Sun & Moon—Team Up. These reprints won't be legal in the Standard format, but will remain usable in formats that allow the original editions of these cards.
