Delta Reign: Mega Rayquaza ex and the Stadium Card Split in Two
The Japanese expansion Storm Emeralda has now been officially revealed. It releases in Japan on July 31, 2026 as the M6 set, before reaching international audiences as Delta Reign on November 6, 2026. This TCG expansion is led by Mega Rayquaza ex and introduces a brand-new mechanic: a Stadium card split into two parts. Here is everything we know so far.
Storm Emeralda: the contents of the upcoming Delta Reign expansion
Storm Emeralda will feature 76 cards in its main set, plus another 35 to 40 secret rares, for a rough total of 115 cards. This volume is in line with previous Mega Evolution expansions.
The Japanese name references Rayquaza's role in Pokémon Emerald, where it resides in the ozone layer. The international name Delta Reign nods to Mega Rayquaza's delta (Δ) design motif and its signature Ability, Delta Stream.
Mega Rayquaza ex, the headliner of the expansion
Mega Rayquaza ex is a Colorless Basic Pokémon with 280 HP. Its Ability lets you, when you place it onto your Bench, look at the top four cards of your deck and attach a Basic Energy found there to this Pokémon.
Its attack deals 50 damage times the number of Fire and Lightning Energy attached to all of your Pokémon in play. The card has a Lightning Weakness (×2), a Fighting Resistance (-30), and a Retreat cost of 2. Like every Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, when it is Knocked Out, your opponent takes three Prize cards.
For reference, Mega Rayquaza-EX was already the star of the Roaring Skies set back in 2015.

Legendary Summit: a Stadium card in two parts
The expansion's major new feature is the Stadium card Legendary Summit. It can only be put into play together with its other half, the two parts then counting as a single Stadium card. This mechanic echoes the LEGEND cards from the HeartGold & SoulSilver era, which also required two halves to be played. It remains to be seen whether other split cards will follow in the set.
The other cards revealed
The expansion introduces the Fletchling, Fletchinder, and Talonflame ex evolution line, the latter being a Stage 2 Colorless Pokémon with 280 HP. Several Trainer cards accompany these Pokémon, including an Item and a Tool tied to Mega Rayquaza. Their final naming will be confirmed at the international release.
Release dates and the Mega Gallade ex promo
In Japan, Storm Emeralda releases on July 31, 2026, alongside three "MEGA Starter Set ex Decks" featuring Eevee ex, Zoroark ex, and Meowscarada ex. Internationally, Delta Reign arrives on November 6, 2026, three months after Japan. This unusual gap is explained by the worldwide launch of 30th Celebration, which shifted the expansion schedule.
Japan will also hold sealed tournaments rewarding winners with a Mega Gallade ex promo, a reprint as a new Special Illustration Rare.
